GOQ x Duraa “Queer Bodies Know Best”

🌿 Date: 12th of July
🌿 Time: 13-16
🌿 Location: "Het Park" Rotterdam, wheelchair accessible location
🌿 Tickets: €15-25, link below

🌿 About the artist:

Duraa is a word artist, singer-songwriter and theatre-maker. To her, art means both protest and joy. Her work ranges from fierce social criticism to fiery self-love and from bold pieces about sex and sexuality to personal works about this unbearable life.

🌿 About the workshop:

As a queer person, it's not always easy to stay connected to your body: because we're part of a capitalist and productivity focused society, but also because we don't always feel safe in our own bodies. In this workshop we will practice finding a connection with our bodies and the nature around us, using our senses, movement and writing. What do you notice around you? What is your body telling you? And what do you want to create today?

Nature is a great setting to take some importance away from all those thoughts in our head and redirect some of that attention to our bodies.

Tickets available at sliding scale pricing (€15-25)

“I Don’t Know How to Draw a Tree” - Emotional illustration & poetry workshop.

When did we learn to represent trees in a certain way? And what does this say about our relationship to the world?

The workshop is a proposal to explore together how we draw, deconstructing academic canons of control and violence. We will re-construct together under the trees through exercises of connection, from different feminist queer perspectives focusing on the emotional rather than only the rational. The intention is to look for collective diverse ways to come together humans and non-humans, to learn to observe, share feelings and take care of each other. The workshop is connected to the book of poetry and illustration with the same titled published by Rotopol in March 2025.
