Neuroqueer
Care Community
An online support space
for neurodivergent queers
About the community
The Neuroqueer Care Community is a guided peer-to-peer support space, where neurodivergent queers come together through live online support sessions, discord hangouts and day-to-day chats.
This community was created out of necessity and need for more community led care-spaces;
places where we can come together and learn to safely be our unmasked selves, without having to over explain. Where our needs and experiences are honored, validated and supported, unlike so many other spaces we navigate on a daily basis.

About your host
Toyah (she/they) is a neuroqueer artist, community care facilitator
& the founder of Garden of Queerdom.
As a neurodivergent & queer being, they have experienced first hand how difficult and isolating it can be to navigate a world that is not built for us. Having dealt with multiple years of burn-out, financial hardship and self-doubt - they deeply understand the need for more care-centred community spaces where neurodivergence and queerness are viewed through an intersectional lens & support is seen as a communal practice.
Toyah has facilitated and hosted dozens of workshops and (neuro)queer community events over the years. Her strength lies in making people feel validated and seen by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, hosted from a space of vulnerability and kindness.
This community is for you, if you…
Are neurodivergent and queer (or questioning) and want to feel supported
& seen in your lived experiencesAre longing for a space to feel loved and accepted as your (unmasked) self
Are tired of being misunderstood, misgendered or misdiagnosed
Are going through burnout and need a space to feel supported
Want to connect to & learn from likeminded queers and build a community
that supports each other through life’s ups and downs.Believe that care shouldn’t just be an individual practice - but thriving happens together
Have been craving community, but aren’t sure how to build it or where to find it
Might also be chronically ill, disabled or homebound but still want to connect to your community
Are going to scream if one more person tells you that “everyone is a little autistic/adhd/ocd”
Would love to be part of a community of quirky, sweet and loving queers
FAQs
-
No, this space welcomes all sexualities/genders/beings. It is however a “queer centered” space, meaning that it centers the experiences of queer people through the topics and discussions we engage in.
Anybody that is an ally and respects this space is welcome to join and learn/participate. -
Yes very welcome. Officially diagnosed, self diagnosed or questioning neurodivergent and queer people are all welcome in this space - the only person who can ultimately decide where you fall on any spectrum is you.
We want to offer a space where you can figure that out along side each other, without the pressure to know “who you are” at all times.
-
Many people find there is much overlap between the neuroqueer experience and the disabled or chronically ill experience and/or may identify themselves with multiple of these terms.
This space is designed to honor and facilitate the multitude of these experiences, while also recognizing that we may not be able to accommodate everyone in their needs all the time.
However, if there is something we can do to make our community more accessible to you, please let us know.

Price & labor transparency
It has always been our goal to make Garden of Queerdom as accessible as possible to our community. We never want money to stand in the way of much needed community and queer care, and would never send people away for this reason.
However, it is also important for us to recognize that we, as queer and neurodivergent artists, should also receive a fair wage for our labor. A lot of time, care and energy is poured into this community and without the proper care for ourselves and our livelihood, we can not uphold the work that we do in a sustainable way.
We want to be as transparent as possible about how our time is spent and the pricing that has come from that. We feel that this creates more room for other queer entrepreneurs and creatives to also receive a fair wage for their labor, therefor creating more financial safety for all of us.
Below you will find a rough overview of the minimum amount of hours that are spent by Toyah
every month on managing the online community spaces.
